Hey there! I’m one week into Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion! You can read my post from last week here. >>Week 1<< I talk about why I chose to start this book and program!

I mentioned before that restriction has been the biggest downfall for me. I love cooking a wide range of cuisines. Cutting out entire food groups or macros makes it more difficult and less enjoyable for me.

In addition to that, dinner is my favorite meal. I have never really been a huge breakfast person. I don’t particularly enjoy eating early in the day and I don’t really like breakfast foods either. A lot of traditional diet programs push eating early and tapering off so you’re eating smaller amounts at night.

No thank you.

So, while choosing a new program to kick-start my weight loss, keeping those things in mind was an important factor for me. In an author interview, Joel answered some of my biggest concerns and made me feel even more confident in my decision.

Always Eat After 7 PM by Joel Marion

What inspired Joel Marion to write Always Eat After 7PM?

When asked what inspired him to write the book, Joel touched on two of my biggest concerns while dieting.

He said, “After authoring 6 best-selling books it was glaringly obvious there were 2 huge misconceptions about dieting that needed to be exposed. The first is that you can’t eat late at night or before bed, which science now shows is NOT true. And second, you can’t eat large portions that satisfy your natural instinct. This book solves both these problems by providing an evidence-based, enjoyable approach to dieting that can be used by any person to quickly achieve their weight loss goals.”

Okay, so not only do I get to enjoy my favorite meal of the day, but I also don’t have to skimp on my portions! That’s a major win in my book!

How difficult is it to follow the Always Eat After 7 PM program?

Later in the interview another major concern of mine was addressed. How difficult is the Always Eat After 7 PM plan to follow?

He answered saying, “It’s not. And that’s exactly why I wrote the book. While any diet is never truly easy, it can be more enjoyable and much easier to adhere to when you understand how Always Eat After 7pm works because it caters to our bodies natural instincts.”

MAJOR relief for me.

Especially because I already know that my natural instinct is to eat at night and this program allows me to follow my natural patterns of hunger!

I also really love how deeply rooted everything is in scientific research. Rather than the same old criteria that most diet plans typically follow being from decades old advice and clinical recommendations.  A lot has changed over the years and we have learned so much more about the human bodies and processes, and I feel like Joel really did some great in depth research and is using that towards a whole new (and maybe better) approach to losing weight!

What about carbs?

One of my favorite quotes from the book actually touches on carbs specifically. No more cutting them out! “So, despite all the bad press over the years, certain carbohydrates play an important role in balancing your hormones and regulating your metabolic rate, while avoiding the dreaded weight loss plateaus that accompany conventional mainstream diets. Furthermore, when you eat these carbohydrates, you’ll feel much better than you would if you were following a traditional diet.”

The more I read about it, the more I love it. You can learn more about the book and how to purchase a copy for yourself here!
