Keeping the house free of pet hair is a problem that most pet owners face. Whether you have a lot of pets, or just ones with a ton of hair, it always manages to build up so heavily you can’t even breathe without inhaling a piece! Finding a vacuum that can handle all of that is a whole separate issue.
There are a ton of pet vacuum reviews out there, but I will tell you that we have 5 indoor animals! One of them has very long hair, and all five shed heavily between seasons. I know what a problem pet hair can be.
I have tried so many methods to reduce the amount of pet hair in our house on a daily basis. I have finally found one of the best vacuums for pet hair that actually helps reduce the overall amount by preventing heavy build up.
After years of dealing with massive amounts of pet hair on everything and reading tons of pet guides, I have found the best small vacuum for pet hair that actually helps me every day to keep the hair at bay! This Roomba robot vacuum has helped my household to reduce the bulk of the pet hair around the house. In turn, made it easier for me to keep my house clean and hair free literally just with the push of a button!
I swear, this is one of THE BEST vacuums for pet hair that I have found!
Pet Vacuum Reviews: 3 Major Pros
The simple vacuum design is so easy to clean.
Most vacuums for pet hair are large and bulky. On top of that, they are intricately designed and can be hard to clean. It’s difficult to remove any clogs that happen in the system or in the hose.
The Roomba vacuum is an extremely simple design that make disassembly and cleaning a breeze! The filter is located behind a door with clips, so you don’t even need a tool to get it out!
The simple system generally keeps any clogs from forming, but in the event that a small clog does happen, it’s so easy to pull out fur so the vacuum doesn’t fully clog and can still vacuum effectively. You just have to remove the collection bin and you have easy access to the whole vacuum chamber.
I’ve had major problems with clogged vacuums and hoses over the years. Specifically because of the length of my large dogs fur getting tangled in the hoses. If you have ever tried removing a hair clog from the middle of a vacuum hose, you know how much of a pain it can be. Finding the clog then trying to find a tool of any kind that’s long enough to reach it, actually getting the clog to move, it’s exhausting!
But with the Roomba vacuums simple design, that issue is a distant memory and I will never go back!
The low profile on this vacuum helps get to the hard to reach areas.
One thing I never did previously was regularly vacuum under my furniture and other hard to reach places. I mean, who want to rearrange their entire living room EVERY DAY just to vacuum underneath? Not me.
I noticed that most pet vacuum reviews don’t touch on this subject. However, pet hair tends to accumulate exactly in those hard to reach areas and regularly cleaning them out helps reduce the build up to keep the overall amount of pet hair to a minimum.
Previously, even when we vacuumed daily, hair would still appear on the floor just minutes after we finished (mostly because we weren’t getting to those small areas). The pet guides I have read made no mention of the
Since our upgrade to the Roomba, the vacuum cleans under the furniture and in the corners so there is no surprise fur piles that would ultimately end up spread back all over the floor.
The Roomba side brush and easy to clean rollers makes sure to get all of the hair!
The Roomba’s spinning side brush makes short work of grabbing all of the hair piles on the floor from all of the hard to reach areas. We get a lot of hair in the corners and under cabinet edges. It also gets close around the legs of tables and chairs, which is super helpful in our house.
Once all the hair is collected, the easy clean rollers suck up the piles with ease! I have had very minimal issues with hair getting tangled around these rollers. In the event it does get tangled, the rollers are so easy to remove from the vacuum and clean off!
I can’t tell you how many vacuums we have destroyed with our dogs long hair, but this little robot vacuum is an absolute champion! We have only had a couple of issues with hair getting wrapped around the rollers. However, since they’re made out of rubber instead of bristles, clean up is so easy and it’s back to vacuuming the hair away in no time!
The one downside to the best pet hair vacuum.
Although I would love to say that this vacuum is 100% a dream, I do believe in honest pet vacuum reviews and there is one negative about it. The waste collection container on this vacuum is SMALL! I do have to make sure to empty the bin after every run. With that being said, I do have 5 animals that shed a ton and one with very long hair. All of that considered, I am personally able to run the Roomba through one full cycle in my home before it fills up. For me, that’s not a huge deal. In my opinion, it’s better than spending hours moving furniture and vacuuming or sweeping myself every day.
In your case, you may have less animals, or smaller ones, that would allow you to get more runs out of it before having to empty the bin. Another factor is that we do have the smallest (and most inexpensive) Roomba option. There are others with larger bins and even one with a canister that will auto-empty as a solution for you! In any case, I still think this is absolutely one of the best vacuums for pet hair.
The Roomba is the best small vacuum for pet hair reduction in your house easily and long term.
I have been battling pet hair for years, and this is the first time that we are comfortable inviting people over! It no longer looks like an untamed zoo. As I said before, I have achieved all of this with the basic Roomba vacuum. There are so many options available that there is one that will help you with your specific needs and wants.
