Jessica Plans New Clothing Launch for
Fall

Jessica Simpson is looking way beyond red cowboy boots and hair extensions for her next fashion ventures. The pop princess plans to launch sunglasses, swimwear and even lingerie this year, according to Women's Wear Daily. WWD reports that Jessica and her shoe line partners, the Camuto Group, have signed a variety of new clothing and accessory licenses for fall. The mag says the company plans to launch outerwear with New York-based Fleet Street, swimwear with In Gear, eyewear with Colors in Optics, handbags with Trebbianno, costume jewelry with Lydell and lingerie with the Montreal-based Vestiny, with Jessica approving every design that comes across their desks. The 'Dukes of Hazzard' starlet reportedly shot a new campaign for the clothing last week and will even model her swimsuits on the catwalk at the annual Miami Swim Show in July. Her shoes are currently available at Macy's, Nordstrom, Dillard's and Bakers.

I just got back from spending some time in Europe, and while I was there I visited many museums, and have been reading about different artists. I have also been writing a lot in my journal recently. I was reading a book about Michelangelo and there were 2 quotes that caught my attention - "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free." Michelangelo ^(3)Each time we face our fear, we gain strength, courage, and confidence in the doing.^(2) These quotes inspired me to write the below passage. I hope you can find your own individual meaning in it, as I keep coming back to it and find new strength. RUMOR: We heard yesterday that Jessica Simpson was in town, shooting the September cover for SELF. Then this morning, a little birdie told us that the blonde-again starlet was so distraught over her reported break up with John Mayer, she was worried she wouldn't be able to pout, pose and, what's it called, "emote," to the best of her little ability for the photographer, and she asked to be rescheduled. So it came as little surprise when we got yet another call this afternoon, divulging that not only did jess show up at the shoot as planned, but that she requested only John Mayer songs on the stereo while she strutted her stuff for the camera.

Jessica Simpson’s dad, Joe Simpson, is a smart guy. He’s taken a page out of Goldie Hawn’s old playbook and put singer-daughter Jessica into a “Private Benjamin” for 2007. That was the word from Joe on Saturday night at Vanity Fair’s annual affair at the very, very, very expensive and posh Hotel du Cap in Antibes. “Major Movie Star” is all about a blond bombshell ingénue who winds up in the U.S. Army. Hilarity ensues, hopefully, since Jessica has gone blonde again for the role. Shooting begins in June, and both father and daughter are reasonably excited about the new role. But that’s also because Jessica won’t be making any new albums for a while. She tells me that she’s concentrating on her movie career, for better or worse, and won’t be making any new recordings until her heart is in it. “It’s very hard to be singing big ballads about love when your heart is broken,” she said. The statement seemed to harken back to her marriage and divorce with Nick Lachey, notable more for its reality TV show jokes than anything else. It wasn’t necessarily about singer-songwriter John Mayer, with whom she’s been singing “Break Up to Make Up." Indeed, Jessica was on her way to New York, she told me on Saturday night. “I have a date,” she said, with much obvious glee. On her last album, Simpson got a lot of raspberries blown in her direction for trying dance music like “You Spin Me Round.” She tells me: “I did that material because I didn’t want my fans to think I was sad. But I was, and I’m going to wait until things are right.” “Major Movie Star” is the second of three cinematic efforts Jessica’s got cooking right now. The first, “Blonde Ambition,” is done, although she will be recording a track for the end credits. She’ll do the same for “Major Movie Star.” And then, at 26, the world is her oyster. up," says the source. "But they have broken up and gotten back
together at least ten times before." According to the source, the

deformities charity for a decade - failed to attend the Operation Smile
benefit on 12 May (07) sparking rumours she had dumped them. A source

got a lot of good publicity from the charity but refused to let pictures
of her be in the commemorative book and hasn't done anything with them in

The singer, in the Mother's Day report from the In Touch Weekly, says that her mother is the one she turns to for all sorts of advice - even if that means telling her about all that goes on in the bedroom. "My family is really close. I talk to my mom about my sex life!" the National Ledger quoted her, as telling the mag. Jessica also reveals that she is grateful that her mother was always there for her and little sister Ashlee. "She taught aerobics in the morning and then just, you know, packed our lunches and made our beds and the whole thing," Jessica remembers.
