The singbird, mindful that 50 Cent reportedly turned his small equity stake in Glaceau, maker of VitaminWater, into $400 million when Coca-Cola bought the upstart-beverage company for $4.1 billion, is angling for a similarly-sized equity stake in TrimWater in exchange for an endorsement deal. And the 27-year old singer cum actress isn't alone. Cameron Diaz and Hillary Duff are also looking to cash in on the enhanced water craze by seeking equity stake endorsement deals with TrimWater. She's always been herself on camera, but Jessica Simpson isn't ready to show all of herself on camera. "The last script that came to us was for Jessica to be a porn star," Jessica's father and manager, Joe Simpson, told PEOPLE at Thursday's ABC Television Critics Association party in Beverly Hills. "We were promised we would win an Oscar with that," says Simpson, 49. "I was like, 'Eh, we'll just buy a [statue of a] little man and keep our clothes on.' " Since she shot to fame in 2003 with ex-husband Nick Lachey on MTV's Newlyweds Jessica Simpson, 27, has been receiving quirky TV-show proposals "every day," according to her father. "We're pitched those a lot," he says. "There are a lot of cool ones, and a lot of really strange ones." Currently, Papa Simpson is promoting ABC's fall series The Women's Murder Club, which he is producing with Rush Hour director Brett Ratner. No plans are underway for Jessica or her younger sister Ashlee Simpson, 22, to appear on the show. "They're very busy, and they're happy," Joe Simpson says of his daughters. "Jessica has three more movies to shoot; she has a new record coming in September. If the right role came up, of course, we'd never turn that down."

In Touch Weekly has a report that notes that during a press conference for the ABC drama Women's Murder Club, for which he is executive producer, Joe Simpson revealed that there were no plans to have either of his daughters, Jessica or Ashlee, guest-star on the series. But he had something to say about Lindsay Lohan to a small group of journalists after the session.

What's the difference between Lindsay and, say Jessica, who have both struggled with fame? 

"They all make choices, all girls struggle. Both of my girls struggle with their own place — where they are flawed and make errors. We are human. Unfortunately, the whole world watches."

Do you talk to them about it?

"Of course we do. We talk all the time. That's one of the reasons we stay close to our girls and try to be there when they need us and be away when they don't."

What's going on with the girls? Is Ashlee getting engaged?

"No, please, not today! She's doing good working on her record and Jessica is making a movie. I just flew here from the set; she's in combat boots and a uniform, working." READ MORE

Quartet get orders for 'Star' duty

Vivica A. Fox, Steve Guttenberg, Ryan Sypek and "Saturday Night Live" vet Cheri Oteri have been cast opposite Jessica Simpson in the comedy "Major Movie Star" for Nu Image/Millennium Films. "High School Musical's" Olesya Rulin, "Gilmore Girls" regular Keiko Agena, Jill Marie Jones, Aimee Garcia and Gary Grubbs also star in the story of Megan (Simpson), a somewhat clueless movie star who impulsively enlists in the U.S. Army Reserve after discovering her boyfriend is gay and her cousin/accountant has stolen all her money. Fox will play Sgt. Louisa Morley, an intimidating training officer who goes hard on Megan. Guttenberg will play the controlling agent Sidney Green, furious at her for enlisting and at Gen. Greer (Grubbs) for keeping her there. Sypek will play the handsome officer Megan falls for, Sgt. Mills Evans. Oteri will play Pvt. Celebrated filmmaker Barry Levinson is shooting the star-studded ads on a set at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, according to internet gossip Marc Malkin.

Jessica Simpson is a big spender, she recently admitted to Harper's Bazaar — big surprise there. But the singer/actress also revealed that while sister Ashlee "goes to a thrift store and can buy something for 20 bucks ... I have to go buy a black button-down at Barneys. For $900. Because it's a collector's item," she said in the magazine's August issue, which features Jessica on the cover. When asked which career she would pick if she had to choose between music and movies, she replied, "In my music career, there have been moments of failure, and with acting I haven't had that yet. But music is opening up my heart and every emotion inside of me."

Jessica Simpson Debuts Swimwear Line; Drops And Gives Vivica Fox 50

It may be a long way from the muddy pits of Louisiana to the fashion runways of Miami, but Jessica Simpson made the trek in time to debut her swimwear collection Saturday night during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, shifting gears from her next film role to an entirely new challenge. "My role at this fashion show is designer," Simpson told MTV News. She said she's been involved from the very beginning, "coming up with different fabrics and everything that reflects my personality and putting that into a bathing suit." She hand-picked the runway models that will be premiering a retro look, a bohemian look, and "an All-American-slash-pinup-girl" bathing suit. Simpson's own happy memories of learning to swim alongside her mom contributed to her desire to pursue this project. "There's always fun in a bathing suit," she said. "And you know that when people are buying a bathing suit, they're buying it because they want to go do something to enjoy themselves, and that's kind of where I'm at in my life." Simpson said her swimsuit line is "not afraid to celebrate a woman's body." Simpson also said she hopes her bathing suits will encourage women to embrace positive self-images. "I do want to inspire people to fall in love with their body and be confident in who they are," she said. "I mean, I'll show you that I have fat rolls. Jessica Simpson heated things up in Miami over the weekend as she premiered her fun and flirty line of swimwear at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week -- Miami Swim event. "I'm beyond excited," she said of showing off her hard work. "I'm freaking out! I don't even know what to do with myself!" Jessica was front and center during the rehearsals and revealed she knows all too well how terrifying it can be to go swimsuit shopping, but hopes the line she created with her mom TINA will help ease the pain! "The scariest thing in the world is when you have to tell a woman they have to purchase a bathing suit -- I definitely know that," she says. But being yourself is key Jessica says. "Anything you're comfortable in, you're going to be eyed in by everyone else around you -- including the cute boy you want to attract!"

Jessica Simpson and Eva Longoria are extremely close friends, so the question on everyone's lips was why wasn't the singer at the 'Desperate Housewives' star's wedding to Tony Parker. While some reports speculated that Simpson gave the ceremony in France a slip because she and Longoria are no longer friends, Longoria's rep insists that the case is not so. The rep said that it wasn't a feud that kept Jessica away from the A-list couple's wedding, but the fact that her cousin was getting married on the same day. "Jessica was invited to Eva and Tony's wedding. They are really good friends. Unfortunately her cousin was also getting married on the same day!" TMZ.com quoted the rep, as saying. Simpson's rep confirmed that the singer was attending her cousin's wedding in Texas on July 7. Eva and Jessica have been close pals ever since sharing stylist Ken Paves. Longoria even appeared in Simpson's "Public Affair" video.

Hollywood hottie Jessica Simpson launched her much anticipated swimwear line at Mecedes-Benz Fashion Weeek in Miami yesterday in front of a star-studded audience. The Dukes of Hazzard actor's first foray into fashion design had been hugely hyped in the lead up to the major fashion show, from pundits eager to see if the former Newlywed had what it takes to step into the rag trade. The line of hot swimwear featured skimpy two-piece bikinis as well as bold coloured one-piece suits. Simpson reportedly played a major role in the design and marketing of the line and was said to have hand selected the runway models who would be promoting her designs during the Fashion Week events.

Jessica Simpson 'Dresses For Men'

Singer-actress Jessica Simpson has admitted that she dresses for men. The 'The Dukes of Hazzard' actress said that when she is dressing for men, she is assured that 'it is good' for her. "I dress for men. I dress for men and myself. If I'm dressing for men, then I know it's good for myself," Us Weekly quoted her, as telling Harper's Bazaar magazine. In the interview, the 26-year-old also hasn't ruled out going under the knife, though she has denied reports of jaw replacement. Simpson said that she won't mind undergoing surgery in case her breasts begin to sag after childbirth. "I love the bump in my nose. People have said that I've had things like a jaw replacement or implant or something. I'm photographed everyday of my life and have never worn any bandages or anything, so how could that be right? But maybe after having kids, if my boobs dropped down to my belly button, I would get them lifted...Maintenance. But you know, my boobs are real," she added.

Singer/actress Jessica Simpson has reportedly been ordered to boot camp to prepare for an upcoming film role. Simpson is set to play a down-on-her-luck actress who joins the Army in Major Movie Star. A source tells New York Daily News, "She's going to be in boot camp for two days to learn how to do Army drills and salute properly and that sort of thing."

Access caught up with Kors who got the lowdown from Simpson on fashion, those plastic surgery rumors and her secret alternate career dream. Kors told Access Hollywood, he decided to interview the star, because of her longstanding effect on him. “Jessica is a great friend and she's kind of a muse,” Kors explained. “She's the all-American girl but she's got a little edge to her.”  Simpson told Kors she dresses for the men in her life. When she was with boyfriend John Mayer – who’s a foot taller than 5’4” Jessica, she told Kors, “I just wear really high heels.” “I think she would play basketball in high heels if it was up to her,” Kors told Access. Jessica Simpson's Not So Happy Birthday

Poor Jessica Simpson! The blond bombshell tried to celebrate her 27th birthday today at the Silver Spoon Beach House event space in Malibu, but the paparazzi apparently scared her away. Here's what went down: Simpson and five pals arrived this morning for a day at the beach. Lunch and a barbecue dinner were planned, sources tell me. But about two hours into it, as lunch was being served, more than a dozen paparazzi descended on the house. I'm told Simpson decided to cut it short. "She couldn't deal with it," one source said. "She kept saying she didn't want her friends to go through that. So, they stayed inside and then just left." Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Simpson will be returning to the beach anytime soon. She's apparently leaving for New Orleans tomorrow to start shooting her next flick, Major Movie Star.
