Jessica Simpson was allegedly 11 hours late for a promotional interview. The actress was due to speak to Lara Spencer of America's 'The Insider' show at 10 a.m. However, Jessica didn't arrive until 9 p.m., leaving Laura - who had flown to Louisiana, where Jessica is currently filming new movie 'Major Movie Star,' to conduct the interview - waiting for 11 hours. Jessica's spokesperson blamed the wait on miscommunication, saying, "Jessica did the interview as soon as she was free from shooting." Last week, Jessica's co-star Vivica A. Fox dismissed claims the busty blonde was a diva. Vivica, who appears alongside Jessica in 'Major Movie Star,' insisted rumours Jessica has behaved like a spoilt brat were just "vicious lies." She said, "Those vicious lies they put out were just that - lies. "She was so much of a team player. She was gracious and so down to earth." Vivica insists Jessica - who plays a Hollywood star who joins the US Army in the movie - worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices. She added, "She showed a lot of physicality, like 90 per cent of all her own stunts, and she sacrificed so much of her body for this movie." source: azcentral.com |

Jessica Simpson's impromptu performance at Shreveport, Louisiana's Olive Street Bistro, has landed her a regular spot at the restaurant. The busty blonde, who has been filming new film Major Movie Star nearby, wowed diners by taking the piano when restaurant dishwasher Marshall Collier sat down to play for diners. And restaurant manager Fernando Maldonado was ecstatic when Simpson belted out classics like Midnight Train To Georgia and Desperado for his guests. Too impressed by her performance, Maldonado immediately offered Simpson a regular place on his stage. "It was so fantastic. Jessica is welcome back here any time," Contactmusic quoted Maldonado, as saying. Simpson booked a table at the Shreveport diner to celebrate pal and hair stylist Ken Paves' birthday. source: yahoo news |

On her musicI love creating music of moments for people. A certain song will always take you back to a certain moment. To be able to do that for somebody is wonderful. I want everything on my records to be inspirational. Fan letters are the most amazing things to receive because of that. On her last albumI was not emotionally prepared to share with my fans what I was going through. I was hurt really badly and was at a place where I felt like I couldn't inspire. I felt like I was the one who needed inspiration at the moment. Although one of the songs that I wrote on that album, "Walk Around in a Circle," is one of the best songs I've ever written in my life, the rest of the album is just filled with dance tracks. I felt like I was lying to myself and to my fans a little bit. I was afraid to sing from my soul to show people my hurt because of how overexposed everything had already been made. On being a celebrityEver since I was young, I never prayed to be a celebrity or hear myself on the radio or anything like that. I just prayed that God would use me. And in any way he could. I believe my blessing is my singing voice. I can use my voice to be effective. On the tabloids and her charitiesI don't do it so people can be like, Oh, what a good person. I don't need a pat on the back. I want to be there for those kids. That's what matters to me. After this last time when I went to visit the orphanage, the media focus was not on the kids. It was on the fact that I'd gotten a free car and was using it as some sort of publicity stunt. And people around me were like, "Aren't you frustrated that they're saying this or this?" And I was like, you know what, I'm not going to let it get to me. Because these kids have been pained, and I've just set out to do the right thing. I believe in what goes around comes around and in the golden rule: do onto others as they would do Unto you. I try not to let tabloids steal my joy anymore. On botching the Dolly Parton songIn my eyes, I failed. I let other people down and I let her down. But she wrote me the kindest words. She said "I will always love you." And when Dolly Parton says "I will always love you and don't listen to what other people are saying," that helps you get out of it! It was hard to overcome my fear of getting on stage again, but I did. I got on stage with Willie Nelson to sing gospel. We did "Amazing Grace" and "I'll Fly Away." That was perfect because I was singing gospel so I was praying the whole time! And Willie is just an angel. On her movie-star idolsBrigitte Bardot is one of the most beautiful women, I believe, of all time. She always had a very curvy and beautiful body. Curves are amazing! I think a woman with curves is the sexiest woman—people are too fixated on being skinny now. The old movie stars like Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe embrace the beauty of their bodies. I'm sure they had moments that they were insecure but I don't know if the world ever made them feel the way the world does today. I'd love to go back in time and understand what it used to be like before everyone fixated on skinniness. On NewlywedsI think it's what really gave me my celebrity. I just said whatever and people loved it. They took it in as being something that they could relate to because I was actually a normal person. I think as a celebrity you should always be honest about yourself. On how the media has affected her relationshipsI don't ever want to credit the media for affecting me or my relationships because every relationship that I've ever been in, I've been in it because my heart wanted to be in it. So any person that I'm with has to be, like in Sheryl Crow's words, "Strong enough to be my man." On falling in loveYou have to be brave to let yourself fall in love. Because you don't know where you're going to land. You can't control it, it's an emotion. I believe that the heart is something that is very hard to control. You can control your mind, manipulate it, empower it. But falling in love is falling. On songwritingI write a lot of songs from my journals. Or from things that fans have asked me or told me. Just inspirational things in my life. A song has to come from a place of inspiration, or else it doesn't really mean anything. source: self.com |

Three hundred dollars apiece. The upcoming comedy, in which Simpson plays a down-on-her-luck movie star who tries to change her life by enlisting in the U.S. Army, was shot in Shreveport, Louisiana. source: eonline.com |

Actress Jessica Simpson has been praised by her 'Major Movie Star' co-star Vivicia A. Fox for attempting to carry on filming even after a stunt almost left her with a broken nose. The 43-year-old insisted that Simpson gave an 'intense' performance even when she was in pain after hitting her nose with a gun. "During the scene she looked really intense when I looked in her eyes, and I just thought she was really into it. But when the director (Steve Miner) yelled, 'Cut,' Jessica came over to me and said, 'Vivica I hit my nose with the gun'," Contactmusic quoted Fox, as saying. Fox revealed that the pop star was all set to give another take even when she was injured. "We got ice immediately. Most girls would've stopped right then and there, but she was ready to do another take. She's wonderful," she said. 27-year-old Simpson stars as Megan, a somewhat clueless movie star who impulsively enlists in the U.S. Army Reserve after discovering that her boyfriend is gay and her cousin/accountant has stolen all her money, in the comedy. source: yahoo news |

21-year-old Olesya Rulin has gone from Russian dancer to Hollywood star over the past twenty months, riding the “High School Musical” skyrocket all the way to an A-list premiere this week at Disneyland. “I got in today to L.A. from Shreveport, Louisiana - from the set of this movie I’m filming called ‘Major Movie Star,’” she grinned, giving us some details on the flick she stars in alongside Jessica Simpson. “Now there’s all these people here — all these kids and fans and they’re all screaming — and I’m so happy to be here.” And once all the screaming and singing was over, she assured us, she’d be back on-set opposite the world’s most famous ditzy blonde. “I’m co-starring next to Jessica Simpson, and it’s about a major movie star that joins the United States Army,” she explained of the plot. “We’ve been going through boot camp…and we really are going through boot camp!” These days, Rulin has been face down in the mud alongside Simpson - a long way from East High School. “I’ve been going through mortar fire, and swamps, and I have bug bites, bruises and scars now,” she said. “There’s a group of five of us, and we’re running and working together as the army would.” “She’s a wonderful soul, and beautiful, and I love her to death,” Rulin said of her long-legged co-star. “She’s a talented actress, and I’m so happy that she comes to work with 120 percent, and delivers.” READ MORE |

Well, you can probably guess how long it took me to call her back (0.07 seconds). Liz graciously ripped open the card and read it aloud to me (and the half dozen SELF staffers who were, according to Liz, hovering). Here's what it said: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing such a beautiful and heartfelt article about Jessica. You really captured her soul. Tina Simpson" So sweet—and a definite first for me. I've never gotten flowers from a celebrity's mom before. Thank you, Tina! Hopefully, you guys will like the story as much as she did. The September issue, which features Jessica Simpson on the cover, hits stands Tuesday. Check back here in a few days for some more stories and photos from behind the scenes. Jessica Simpson is devastated after breaking her favourite physical feature - her nose. The 'Duke's of Hazzard' beauty, known for her amazing curves, has previously insisted: "There's a lot of girls with a similar body to mine, but my nose is special." So that made her even more distraught when she injured it while filming action scenes on the set of her new movie, 'Major Movie Star', about a Hollywood princess who joins the military. "I was running with a gun over my head and fell and either fractured or broke my nose," she said. "It's all bruised and swollen. "The magic of makeup is doing wonders. "Hopefully when the swelling goes down, my nose will go back to normal." Still, despite the painful accident, the hard work has other benefits - fitness. Jessica got in shape for the action movie, and says that the actual work on-set also keeps her in amazing shape. "I am absolutely stronger than I've ever been. I've never been in this shape in my life," she said. "I am definitely seeing muscles that I have never seen before. I was like - Wow! I didn't know that was possible! "I' feeling better in my skin than I ever felt. It's good to get better with age. READ MORE |

Jessica Simpson has denied reports she plans to adopt a child from a
Mexican orphanage she has been visiting since she was a teenager. The
27-year-old made regular trips to the Casa Hogar Elim orphanage with her
minister father Joe during her adolescence. In a recent interview with
Self magazine, Simpson was quoted as saying, "The first time I went
to that orphanage I was 16. I remember holding this baby who was found in
a dumpster. I wanted to adopt him right then and there... I want to adopt
before I actually have my own kids." However, Simpson's spokeswoman
Lauren Auslander tells website TheCelebrityTruth.com, "This is not
true. She supports an orphanage in Mexico, but she has no plans to adopt a
baby at the time." |

Jessica Simpson: Method actor? The stacked starlet -- with some help from current co-star Vivica A. Fox -- is rebuffing claims that she's achieved a vexing amount of verisimilitude while playing a dizzy, overindulged actress who joins the military in "Major Movie Star," which is currently shooting in Louisiana. Seems the National Enquirer is convinced Simpson has been channeling her inner diva on the set of the comedy, with a spy alleging she's been "acting like a spoiled brat." Among her purported transgressions: She's tossed "tantrums," kvetched about the steamy southern weather, yelled at her assistants and launched into a "loud," four-letter-filled "tirade" against some wardrobe minions because her costume was "too hot" and making her sweat, a rant that left everyone "mortified." The snitch also charges that Jessica "barely speaks" to Fox, "and insists on eating by herself in her trailer rather than in the tents set up for the cast and crew." How about a few words from the supposedly ignored Fox? "It could not be further from the truth," Vivica vows to MSN Entertainment from the set of the film. "Jessica is so professional, so down-to-earth. A jewel. She couldn't be more of a team player and a leading lady. I'm grateful and very happy to be working with her." READ MORE |

Actress Jessica Simpson has dismissed reports her latest movie is so bad it won't be released in U.S. cinemas. The 26-year-old's upcoming romantic comedy Blonde Ambition, in which she stars alongside Luke Wilson, is allegedly not as good as studio bosses had hoped. An insider tells website UsMagazine.com, "It is going straight to DVD domestically. It will only come out in theatres internationally. "The movie is absolutely horrible. It's just a bomb, mainly because of Jessica's acting." But a spokesperson for Simpson says, "It's definitely a theatrical release." One of the producers behind the project is former Malcolm In The Middle star Justin Berman, who now lives in the Calabasas, California home that was used in Simpson's hit reality show The Newlyweds. source: yahoo news |
